LAMP Developer (Backend) - Cincinnati

Signal is looking for a well-versed and motivated LAMP developer. The developer would be part of a development team with responsibilities that range from concept and strategy all the way to testing and deployment of medium- to large-scale interactive web applications.

Requirements / Responsibilities:

  • 3+ years experience with server-side web technology, namely LAMP
  • Relational database design understanding
  • Strong understanding of OOP and ORM
  • Basic Linux / command line understanding
  • Demonstrable understanding of HTML / CSS compliance, leaning towards HTML5
  • Versioning and repo knowledge (read: Git) a plus

Senior Project Manager - Cincinnati

Senior Project Managers should have 6-8+ years experience managing large-scale interactive projects from discovery and design to technical development and implementation. Extensive experience in an agency environment working with and implementing both project management and online best practices on and across large-scale engagements are a critical component of this role.

All in all, the Senior Project Manager must be attuned to value the details as well as be able to understand and drive towards the big picture. Analytical and quick thinking in a fast-paced environment are essential. The Senior Project Manager is an enthusiastic problem solver and thrives on being engaged at all levels of the project. As the key point of contact for both the Client and the project team, the Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of any major engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing overall project management strategy and working with discipline leads and project teams to execute on plans
  • Monitor day-to-day activities of the project team and ensure work is progressing as planned. Work with project team and actively be involved in the work
  • Manage schedules, budgets, assets, and overall project organization to ensure requirements and project deliverables dates are clearly communicated, understood and executed upon
  • Ability to work across several projects with one or more junior project manager(s) or as the primary Project Manager on a large-scale engagement
  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across project(s) based on scope of work and project goals
  • Actively monitor project risks and scope creep to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance
  • Consistently identify needs that Clients may not recognize and ensure approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs
  • Consistently manage client expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on client feedback
  • Communicate and document project status and strategic recommendations to clients, team members and senior Signal management on a regular basis; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels
  • Proactively identify opportunities and deliver improvements; evangelize the Signal project management methodology and project processes
  • Partner with project team leads to present work as well as participate in new business presentation opportunities
  • Lead the training/mentoring of junior project managers on Signal project management methodologies and best practices as required
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and at least 6-8+ years of experience in interactive project management
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and understand different project teams
  • Deep understanding and awareness of product development and experience tying product goals to business goals
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion is critical
  • Experience with the development of large-scale websites and a strong understanding of associated web development technologies and third party applications and platforms is essential
  • Mobile and social media/community experience an asset
  • Competencies in MS Office, MS Project, bug tracking, wiki and other related project management and common communications tools is required
  • PMP and other project management certifications are a big plus

Art Director - St. Louis and Cincinnati

Signal is currently seeking an Art Director to lead visual design initiatives for some of the biggest and most innovative projects in this universe. These are major consumer facing websites and client facing internal applications. We're looking for someone with experience working on large-scale engagements, content properties and ecommerce sites.

Signal Art Directors report to the Creative Director and work alongside the Client Services, User Experience, and Technology Teams. They are responsible for developing creative concepts and approaches with the project team, developing original design concepts as well as oversee project design all the way through execution. They are also responsible for presenting work to executive level client stakeholders and representing Signal's visual design process and integrity at all stages of an engagement. Art Directors are also responsible for providing art direction and leadership to designers working on their project teams, scoping design phases of projects accurately and efficiently as well as attend pitches and industry events as required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of interactive experience
  • 2 years experience at top digital agency in an Art Director role or similar
  • Strong conceptual thinking-- both visual and interactive
  • A solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, user interfaces, and navigation
  • Driven to define the look and feel of large, industry-leading sites
  • Strong leadership skills- ability to lead a team, manage and mentor junior designers

Business Development Manager - St. Louis, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach

Signal is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and help develop strategic relationships with potential clients and partners. This role will report to the Managing Director and oversee business development initiatives to guide potential clients and partners from the introductory lead phase to the contract phase. The role also includes the management of internal operational tasks/projects required to support the business development.

The successful candidate will have the ability to think critically and creatively, as well as possess a high attention to detail and use good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities: Manage all activities throughout the pitch and proposal life cycle:

  • Lead initial call with prospective clients
  • Assess business opportunities (high level scope, project/budget parameters, business challenge and goals)
  • Set up initial meetings
  • Work with Resource Management and Department Leads to determine pitch team
  • Create Credential/Capabilities Presentations
  • Prepare initial thoughts on client's business challenge
  • Review RFP requirements
  • Set up RFP review and lead Q&A meeting with prospective clients
  • Work with Resource Management and Leads to determine staffing for developing proposals
  • Write, coordinate, and solicit feedback from discipline leads to develop proposals, including strategic/business approach, project scope, budget and schedule
  • Manage all ongoing correspondence with prospective clients
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the pitch life cycle (e.g. scheduling meetings, coordinating legal documentation, proofing and editing)
Operational Duties:
  • Create internal marketing materials and pitch materials (e.g. case studies, fact sheets, process and capabilities materials)
  • Support Business Development team to ensure internal new business pipeline reports are up-to-date
  • Communicate regularly with Resource Management, Pitch Leads and Department leads
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or marketing and/or 3-5 years in a related area

Client-side Developer

Signal is currently seeking a motivated, hands-on front-end web developer to join the Signal development team. Developers are responsible for building, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting clean, web standards compliant code and work with server-side developers to integrate this into the final product.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in front-end web development
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of XHTML/CSS
  • Experience translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates
  • Strong working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatibility (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) for dynamic web applications
  • Familiarity with and adherence to web standards and best practices for load time reduction and accessibility

The senior designer will report to the creative director and art director and work alongside the account team, interaction designers and programmers. The successful candidate will be responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the project team, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations to clients, developing detailed design specs for production, and overseeing junior design team members.
